Welcome to Halton Down Syndrome Association's Third Annual Go21 - Walk for Down Syndrome event!

"Go" is in celebration of advancement and strength in the Down syndrome community and "21" represents the tripling of the 21st chromosome that determines if a person has Down syndrome.

 

 

 

 

 

Our 2017 event will take place on Saturday, June 17th at the Milton Fairgrounds from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM with the walk starting at 10:00 AM! Families, friends and community partners will walk together through the streets of Milton to raise money and awareness. Join us after the Walk for a BBQ, pony rides, bouncy castles, rock climbing wall, face-painting, silent auction and so much more!

Where: Milton Fairgrounds, 136 Robert St. Milton, ON L9T 1G9: There is limited shade and cover at the Fairgrounds, so please make sure to bring appropriate protection for the weather (i.e. hat, sunscreen, raincoat, etc.). Feel free to bring blankets to sit on and umbrellas for extra shade! Please note that there are no dogs allowed at this event.

What: HDSA is organizing its Third Annual Go21 - Halton Walk for Down Syndrome. The Canadian Down Syndrome Society (CDSS) launched Go21 in 2014 - “Go” in celebration of advancement and strength in the Down syndrome community and “21” to represent the tripling of the 21st chromosome that determines if a person has Down syndrome. The event will take place Saturday, June 17th, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Milton Fairgrounds. Families, friends and community partners will walk together through the streets of Milton to raise money and awareness.

Who: Halton Down Syndrome Association is a volunteer non-profit organization working to improve the quality of life for people with Down syndrome. Our goal is to see our children become responsible, self-sufficient, fully integrated members of the community, who are accepted by their peers, and who are able to lead happy, productive lives.

If you wish to gather offline donations, please find the attached donation form and bring on the day of the walk with your donations.

If your team wishes to have walk t-shirts, you must register no later than Friday, May 12th, 2017. Remember T-SHIRTS ARE FREE!

Challenge: We challenge all walkers to try to raise a minimum of $25 to support the event and Halton Down Syndrome Association. There will be prizes for the top three fundraising teams.
